All Around Surfaces uses the latest technology that is environmentally safe with our industrial-grade floor scrapping machines. They are designed as battery-operated vehicles, so they do not have gas or propane fumes. Attached to the machine is a vacuum air filter that traps dust and debris that is kicked up when removing the flooring.

Our ride-on floor scraper is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes to remove flooring. It can actually save up to 75% of the time it originally took to remove most floorings. While the job is messy, we guarantee we will remove any of the old debris prior to prepping the floor for its new covering.

Once the floor scraper has scraped up all the floor, the sub-flooring needs to be prepared for whatever is going to be installed. All the debris must be removed and disposed of properly. It is recommended that the floor is pressure washed to get rid of any dust residue.

Elastomeric Sealant

Elastomeric sealant is easy to apply and is considered a waterborne high-performance sealant.  The coating has a flexible nature and is perfect for extreme climates. The subfloor should be sanded down to be sure the surface is level and clean. Then, the elastomeric is applied with a latex roller or brush.

Glued Plank

Glued plank flooring has different requirements depending on the subfloor. The floor needs to be level, and all bumps should be removed. If there is a wooden floor, its moisture content should not be more than 10% cm. For concrete, the moisture content should not be more than 2.5% cm, and for anhydrite, the moisture should not be more than .5% cm. A leveling compound can smooth out any regularities. Once the floor is dry and clean, the glued plank can be installed.

Hardwood Floors

Hardwood floors need to be prepared much the same as the glued plank. Flooring manufacturers will provide the maximum level of moisture that will work with their product. The underlayment is then laid out, as it provides a moisture barrier. Then, we install the hardwood floor.

Vinyl and Vinyl Tiles

Preparation for vinyl flooring is similar to glued plank. Once the floor has been leveled and any blemishes are fixed, the vinyl can be installed.

Stone Floors

Stone floors need to be completely level, and vents and holes need to be taped off. If the floor is not level, a leveling compound can be mixed and spread across the floor to assure it is level. For concrete, it needs to be clean and level as well, and cracks need to be repaired. For wood, mortar is installed prior to the backerboard sheets being installed. Once the sheets are installed on wood or concrete, the seams can be filled with mortar. Another layer of mortar is spread out and combed with a trowel before the stone is installed.

Epoxy Flooring

Epoxy floor is installed over concrete only. The area should be completely blast tracked, and the dust is sucked up as the machine moves over the floor. The blast track removes all of the rubber, texture, laitance, and paint. To ensure the floor is fully abraded, the blast track must be moved up and down overlapping rows. Edges and corners can be smoothed with a surface grinder. The floor must be vacuumed with a commercial-grade vacuum before the epoxy is installed.

Rubber Flooring

Rubber flooring is typically found in hospitals, cafeterias, and gym weight rooms. It is popular because it adds spring and padding underfoot. Subflooring should be cleaned thoroughly and leveled. Once the subfloor is prepared, double-sided tape can be added to the floor — roll out the rubber flooring, then pull the top of the tape off.

Commercial Carpet Removal and Glue Down Carpet Removal

Whether a carpet with padding or a glue-down carpet is installed, it is important that the floor be properly prepared. The floor needs to be clear of any debris — especially staples — if the old flooring had been carpet. The staples can be removed with a screwdriver and pliers, or a heavy-duty staple remover.Patches and cracks will have to be filled in if the subfloor is concrete. We seal the floor, and when it is completely dry, install tack strips along the walls. We then place the padding evenly and install the carpet over the padding.
